Olivia’s serves homecooked Mexican food near the plaza in Ajijic.

What’s served varies from day to day, but you can usually count on eggs, chilaquiles, chiles rellenos, enchiladas, enfrijoladas, milanesa (breaded and fried beef or chicken), soup, tacos, lonches (sandwiches), and carne asada.

Treat the posted menus that you see on the walls as suggestions that are, hopefully, available. This is one of those places where instead of receiving a menu from the waitress, you ask her what’s available today. “¿Qué hay, hoy?” (¿Keeh ay oy?) “What is there today?”

The price for a meal and beverage here is around $100 pesos.
